  • Ministry Credentials

Thank you for your interest in applying for Ministerial Credentials with Freedom Covenant Global Ministries. Please prayerfully consider the following information before completing and returning the required application and supporting documents found at the bottom of this page.

FCGM, through the administration of the Council of Bishops, under authority of the Board of Directors, offers ministerial credentials in several categories to qualified candidates called of God to serve in His ministry. Our credentials will help a person to be recognized and to hold equal rights before the law, the community, and the state.

However, FCGM is not a credential mill, and may not approve credentials for everyone that applies. Only those individuals that have a proven ministry and who are preaching and teaching Gospel Truth consistent with the Word of God and the 2008 Expanded Statement of Faith and Ordinances of FCGM will be considered.

Application procedures and accountability requirements shall be established by the Council of Bishops, under authority of the Board of Directors, and may be modified from time to time.  All applications will be prayerfully and carefully considered by the Council of Bishops, under authority of the Board of Directors, and any credentials issued may be revoked for any [but not limited to] of the following reasons,

    (a) minister is found to not be preaching and teaching Gospel truth consistent with the Word of God and the 2008 Expanded Statement of Faith and Ordinances of FCGM, (b) minister is found to not be living a consistent Christian life above reproach, (c) minister is found to not be working in any form of ministry [except that sabbaticals are allowed for rest and rejuvenation] (d) minister is found to not be co-operating with FCGM by submitting all required reports or not completing any educational requirements in a timely manner, (e) minister is found to not be supporting FCGM in its efforts to spread the Gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ, including [but not limited to] financial support as the Lord provides.

Before revocation, the Council of Bishops shall bring any of these [or other] situations to the attention of the minister, either in writing or by face to face meeting, where possible, to allow for repentance and correction of the error. If agreed upon by the Council of Bishops, the minister may be placed on probation or temporary suspension while efforts are made to correct the problem and restore the minister to repentance and good standing within FCGM. However, if the minister still refuses to repent and correct his/her error, the Council of Bishops may issue a written revocation to said minister, requiring surrender of all credentials issued by FCGM.

FCGM credentials and fee schedules are listed below and may, upon approval of the Council of Bishops, be subject to change without prior notice.

    a. Ministerial Intern: This recognition may be granted by the Council of Bishops, under authority of the Board of Directors to a beginning minister who is just answering the call of God to work for Him, but who lacks experience or training. This license gives no authority to perform the sacerdotal services or other functions of the church, but rather places the beginning minister under a Senior Pastor's authority for a period of no less than 12 months to learn about ministry and accountability.  Requirements for Ministerial Intern shall be, (1) having a call of God to work, (2) be a minimum of 18 years of age, (3) living a consistent Christian life above reproach, (4) having experienced the Baptism with the Holy Spirit, thereby demonstrating an empowerment for witnessing, and (5) successful completion of Bible Proficiency Questionnaire* demonstrating basic Bible knowledge.

    b. Chaplain: This recognition may be granted by the Council of Bishops, under authority of the Board of Directors to those Ministers of the Gospel that are called by God and recognized by the Council of Bishops to minister primarily in prisons, hospitals and government agencies. They may perform the sacerdotal services and ordinances of the church to the extent that they are required or needed in their area of ministry, but may not be in charge of a congregation. They may, however, hold special services under the supervision of a duly appointed Bishop or Senior Pastor of an FCGM chartered church.  Requirements for Chaplain shall be, (1) having a call of God to the five-fold ministry, (2) be a minimum of 21years of age, (3) living a consistent Christian life above reproach, (4) having experienced the Baptism with the Holy Spirit, thereby demonstrating an empowerment for witnessing, and (5) successful completion of Bible Proficiency Questionnaire* demonstrating basic Bible knowledge.  In addition, all candidates for Chaplain must have documented pastoral and counseling experience or complete a prescribed training course through Freedom Covenant Seminary, the educational arm of FCGM. After completing basic courses, the candidate for Chaplain may receive conditional credentials and begin work in his chosen field while completing his training, but only under the direct supervision of another FCGM Chaplain, Bishop or Ordained Minister.

    c. Licensed Minister: This recognition may be granted by the Council of Bishops, under authority of the Board of Directors to those Ministers of the Gospel who are somewhat seasoned in the ministry, but need further experience.  Many of these are individuals that have been working in their chosen vocation, but for some reason or another have never entered full-time ministry, or have only been in full-time ministry for less than three (3) years.  Such persons are authorized to perform all sacerdotal services, and limited authority is granted to run the affairs of the church.  However, that authority is granted only under the supervision of a duly appointed Bishop or Senior Pastor of another FCGM chartered church until such time as he/she has gained the necessary experience and completed all requirements of the Council of Bishops, under authority of the Board of Directors to become Ordained and take charge of the congregation on his/her own.

Requirements for Licensed Minister of the Gospel shall be, (1) having a call of God to the five-fold ministry, (2) be a minimum of 19 years of age, (3) living a consistent Christian life above reproach, (4) having experienced the Baptism with the Holy Spirit, thereby demonstrating an empowerment for witnessing, (5) successful completion of Proficiency Questionnaire* demonstrating basic Bible knowledge.

    d. Ordained Minister:  This recognition may be granted by the Council of Bishops, under authority of the Board of Directors to those persons who have an "established" or "proven" ministry. Ordained ministers are authorized to perform all functions of the Christian ministry and sacerdotal services, and must be capable of doing so.  He/she must be capable, as determined by the Council of Bishops, under authority of the Board of Directors to take charge of a congregation.

Requirements for Ordained Minister of the Gospel shall be, (1) having a call of God to the five-fold ministry, (2) be a minimum of 21 years of age, (3) living a consistent Christian life above reproach, (4) having experienced the Baptism with the Holy Spirit, thereby demonstrating an empowerment for witnessing, (5) successful completion of Proficiency Questionnaire* demonstrating basic Bible knowledge.

Furthermore, an Ordained Minister of the Gospel in good standing with FCGM may be eligible for appointment or election to serve as the need may arise in the following leadership positions within FCGM, (1) Presiding Bishop / President, (2) Executive Pastor / Executive Vice-President, (3) General Secretary, (4) Regional Bishop, (5) National Overseer, (6) Member of the Council of Bishops, or (7) Member of the Board of Directors. Additional requirements may apply before appointment or election to serve in any of these leadership positions.

*FCGM Proficiency Questionnaire* may contain both multiple choice and short essay questions, and will vary with each level of credential desired. All tests are administered on the honor system and are open Bible, however, no other reference books or persons may be used to help complete any test! Bible tests are very important to help determine if the candidate has basic Bible knowledge, and are used to measure any areas where the candidate may need further Bible study. Regardless of test scores, the Council of Bishops may impose additional educational requirements in order for Credentialed Ministers to remain in good standing with FCGM.
