Introduction to Our Ministry

Welcome to the website of Freedom Covenant Global Ministries. We trust that your visit here will be inspirational and invite you to visit often. Before you continue, please allow us to briefly introduce ourselves.

In April 1999, Sam T. Leigh, together with his wife Rosezetta, Charlie Kemp, his wife Willeen, and Jennia Braswell, armed with a vision to carry the Gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ into all the world, founded a non-profit church ministry called General Council of Freedom Covenant Churches International. The ministry was incorporated under the non-profit laws of the State of Washington. A Board of Directors was formed and Sam was elected President.

The Board of Directors, by resolution of the founders, Ordained Sam as Pastor of their first local church, which was incorporated under the laws of the State of Washington with the name Freedom Covenant Church Northwest. After receiving their Local Church Charter from GCFCCI, the first church services were held in the home of Pastor Sam and his wife Rosezetta. In the meantime, GCFCCI made applications to the Internal Revenue Service for 501(c)(3) status and upon approval, for Group Exemption, eventually being granted Group Exempt Number 3659 as a central organization holding a group exemption letter, whose subordinate units covered by the group exemption are also eligible to receive tax-deductible contributions, even though they are not separately listed.

In 2004, GCFCCI was renamed Freedom Covenant Global Ministries to better reflect the various ministries operating under the Freedom Covenant banner. In November 2005, Pastor Sam, together with Pastor David Lathrop, Vice President of FCGM and pastor of the FCGM chartered church The Upper-Room Fellowship were consecrated as Bishops into the Apostolic Succession of the Hebrew Church of the East in America by Bishop Leroy Mikels With Co-consecrator Bishop Audrey N. Mikels in Kelso, Washington. Following this experience and armed with their newly acquired Bishop's Licenses, they led FCGM in the formation of Freedom Covenant Global Ministries Bishop's Synod, which today has membership of over seven consecrated Bishops.

Since its founding, FCGM has grown beyond the State of Washington. Archbishop TOGBEDJI Adade Mawuko (Bishop Albert) is our Overseer of FCGMS Africa, FCGMS of Côte D'Ivoire (The Ivory Coast), West Africa, is under the leadership of Bishop Patricia Mawuko, The Republic of Congo is under the headship of Bishop Ignace Kouma, We have Bishop Kalanzi Jude overseeing FCGMS Republic of Uganda. Archbishop Albert is deeply involved with Freedom Covenant Seminary throughout Africa and Europe.

FCGM is partnered through charter with Voice of Gospel, an International Mission Organization located in Kerala, India. VOGI, under the leadership of Bishop K.V. Daniel, operates churches, Bible schools, and Mercy Homes in India, as well several other countries. VOGI operates in the U.S. as Voice of Gospel Ministries and is located in Humboldt Tennessee.

During the years since the founding of FCGM, one thing has remained consistent. While our members may come from a variety of backgrounds, all have been born again, washed in the Blood of Jesus, Baptized in the Holy Ghost and set apart for the work of His ministry. As a result, we believe that our past sins are no more, having been cleansed by His Blood. Therefore, we each have been made anew and have no more reason to walk in condemnation for those past sins. Now, let us march on in the work of His ministry.

Romans 8:1 [Free from Indwelling Sin] There is therefore now no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus, who do not walk according to the flesh, but according to the Spirit. Romans 8:1-3 (in Context) Romans 8 (Whole Chapter).

On January 1, 2016 Bishop Sam T. Leigh went to be with his Lord Jesus. We celebrate with him in his homecoming.

Mission and Purpose

The mission of FCGM is to serve as an instrument of the Church to preach and teach the Gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ and the Kingdom of God in the entire world, to make disciples in all nations, and to care for those disciples.

The specific and primary purpose of FCGM, as nearly as possible, is to represent in all detail the Body of Christ as described in the Word of God, recognizing the principles inherent in that Body as also inherent in FCGM; particularly the principles of Christian unity, cooperation, and service. FCGM shall maintain conditions under which it can, as an International Christian Denomination, demonstrate these principles and subsequent development.

The further purposes/prerogatives for which FCGM operates are:

To establish and promote Scriptural teachings and conduct within this body of Believers, to encourage and promote the evangelization of cities, towns, counties, states, nations, and their communities as the Holy Ghost leads, and to provide a basis of fellowship among all Christians, especially those of like faith.

To establish and maintain such institutions, including, but not limited to, Churches, Missions, Schools, Colleges, Counseling Centers, Evangelistic and/or other Ministries, along with any departments of same, as may be necessary for the propagation of the Gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ and the work of FCGM.

To issue and oversee such charters, including, but not limited to, Church, Mission, Educational, Christian Counseling, Evangelistic, and/or other Ministry Charters in a variety of categories and titles, as it may deem appropriate, to any qualified applicants). For the purposes of issuing charters, only institutions of like faith, or those licensed or ordained ministers, in good standing with FCGM, are considered qualified applicants.

To issue credentials to individuals that have a calling from God on their lives as part of the five-fold ministry as outlined in Ephesians 4:11-13. Credentials are given only to individuals who have a proven ministry and who are preaching and teaching Gospel truth consistent with the Word of God and the Statement of Faith of FCGM. Credentials are offered in several categories, as set forth in the Bylaws of FCGM, giving the recipient the benefit of equal rights before the law, the community, and the state, while maintaining an accountability of said recipient to both God and FCGM.

FCGM is organized exclusively for religious, charitable, and educational purposes, including, for such purposes, the making of distributions to organizations that qualify as exempt organizations under section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code, or the corresponding section of any future federal tax code. All funds, whether income or principal, and whether acquired by gift, contribution, or otherwise, shall be devoted to said purposes. The mission of FCGM is to serve as an instrument of the Church to preach and teach the Gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ and the Kingdom of God in the entire world, to make disciples in all nations, and to care for those disciples.

However, when He, the Spirit of truth, has come, He will guide you into all truth; for He will not speak on His own authority, but whatever He hears He will speak; and He will tell you things to come. John 16:13 NKJV
